We are not taught how to grieve. We learn to swallow our pain. Instead of expressing our emotions, our pain - we teach ourselves to suppress. A disconnect between the mind and body is created, leading to physical and emotional turmoil.
Somatic practices can help bring awareness to the mind-body connection to:
Process feelings through movement
Allow sadness without depression
Calm overwhelming thinking & emotional storms
Allow grief and gratitude to coexist in your body
Release shame for feeling grief
Connect authentically with others through the heart-centeredness grief can offer
Subvert the need for excessive sugar, coffee, alcohol, shopping, or over-exercising
As a certified yoga teacher RY200
I'm honored to work with you on your grief journey. I believe in the power of the mind-body connection and the healing when they are harnessed together.Â
